Off-Site Backups
Globe with zeroes and onesCWS offers internet back-ups.  Backups are performed over the internet to a secure location.  Data is transferred via a secure connection.  The backup operation requires no media or tape changing and no action on your part.  They are automatic.  File versioning allows retrieval of yesterdays, last weeks, or last months documents.  Files are secured using your company’s active directory and access controls that you currently have in place. Employees can restore their own files when they want easily and quickly with-out the need of retrieving tapes.

What is the cost of replacing your data?

Have you recently tested your back-ups?   If your business was flooded, burned down, or robbed, how long would it take for you to retrieve your data?
Could you retrieve your data?

CWS recommends multiple backup approaches.
-Employees can keep versions of their own documents
-Technologies such as shadow copies can be used to restore older versions
-A commercial backup software can be used to backup data to tapes.

All of these methods can be good and, should be used. However, all have failings. Employees may accidentally write over a file instead of saving a new version, and, shadow copies work until a hard drive fails. Using tapes is a great idea but, tape drives fail, tapes become old and fail, people go on vacation and forget to switch tapes, and many companies do not take the backup tapes off-site for storage. If they do, and a file needs to be restored, some-one must go and retrieve the proper backup tape.  This is where off-site backups come in.  Automatice Off-Site Internet backups can save your business from a data disaster.
